Life on the Edge of a Cliff

Girlfriends, do you ever feel like you are living life on the edge of a cliff, never being certain when you are going to get pushed over into disaster? If so, take courage in knowing your Lord and Savior understands. In fact, He understands intimately because at one point some men took him by force to the edge of a cliff with the intention of throwing Him over. Yet by the grace of God, He was able to slip away right through the angry crowd.

Know also that your heavenly Father can rescue you in your time of need. Whatever crisis you may be facing, He is right there to hold onto to you so that you will not plunge to ruin.

Dearest girlfriends, let us always be brave when we are facing life on the edge of a cliff—trusting our heavenly Father to deliver us.

When they heard this, the people in the synagogue were furious. Jumping up, they mobbed him and took him to the edge of the hill on which the city was built. They intended to push him over the cliff, but he slipped away through the crowd and left them. ~ Luke 4:28-30 NLT

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. ~ Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV

… For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions. ~ Daniel 6:26-27 NIV

Sing to the LORD! Give praise to the LORD! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked. ~ Jeremiah 20:13 NIV

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, … ~ 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 NIV

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; … He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. ~ Psalm 18:16-19 NIV
