♥ Many Waters Cannot Quench Love ♥

Feb 14

by Victoria Robinson

Song of Songs is a book written in the form of a lyrical love song. Within this romantic poetry we see such beautiful thoughts as, “Many waters cannot quench love …” In many ways the sentiments found in this book are a reflection of the love our heavenly Father has for us. His love can never be quenched. A comforting thought knowing we have the security of never being abandoned by the one who loves us more than anyone else ever could, after all, God is love.

A love that cannot be quenched is trustworthy. The love of our heavenly Father is the most wonderful love we all desire. His love for us stands eternal. Dearest girlfriends, as we celebrate this Valentine’s Day let us have a heart of thankfulness for the secure and everlasting love our heavenly Father so graciously lavishes on us.

Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death, Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, A most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love All the wealth of his house, It would be utterly despised. ~ Song of Songs 8:6-7 NKJV

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence … ~ 1 John 4:16-17 NIV

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. ~ Jeremiah 31:3 NIV

Relying on the Confidence of His Love

Feb 07

Your heavenly Father is all-powerful. Therefore, there is naturally a fearful nature of our relationship with Him. The Word of God clearly tells us, “.. what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God …”   However, fear can be a complex concept. While we are to have complete respect and fear for the Lord, we are also told there is no fear in love. His love for us gives us the freedom to not fear Him for the punishment of all our sins, as He has paid the ultimate price through the sacrifice of His Son. His unconditional love assures us we have a secure relationship with Him. In fact in the book of Hebrews we read these wonderful words of encouragement, “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” That is how we can rely on the confidence of His love.

Girlfriends, if you have accepted Jesus Christ into your heart, you do not need anymore to fear the retribution of your heavenly Father. Dearest girlfriends, I pray we would rely on the confidence of His love and not live a fearful life.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. ~ 1 John 4:16-18 NIV

Let those who fear the LORD say: “His love endures forever.” ~ Psalm 118:4 NIV

And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. … “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. ~ Hebrews 10:10,17-18 NIV

What Perfume Are You Wearing?

Jan 02

by Victoria Robinson

Isn’t it wonderful to have someone complement your choice of fragrance? Makes you feel pretty and elevates your mood doesn’t it? What is your favorite perfume? Floral, spicy, herbal, musky, powdery, woody, maybe even sweet? A sweet fragrance is absolutely the finest. I say that with confidence based on the Word of God. In the book of Ephesians it says, “And God was pleased, because that sacrifice was like sweet perfume to him.” The sweet perfume He was referring to was the by-product produced by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ who gave Himself for our sins that we might inherit eternal life.

We are called to live a life filled with love for others just like Jesus did. As we live such a life, we wear the same perfume Jesus did. Now that’s a beautiful scent girlfriends! Dearest girlfriends, let us live a life filled with love for others and spread the sweet fragrance of our Lord and Savior.

Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased, because that sacrifice was like sweet perfume to him. ~ Ephesians 5:2 NLT

And now I want to urge you, dear lady, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we had from the beginning. Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning. ~ 2 John 5-6 NLT

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God—for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us. ~ 1 John 4:7-12 NLT
