A Kindhearted Lady

Do you have the reputation of being a kindhearted lady? Proverbs shows us that a kindhearted lady gains respect. Have you considered what some of the characteristics of a kindhearted lady are? The Hebrew word for kindhearted is chen which means: grace, gracious, pleasant, precious, wellflavoured, charm, elegance, acceptance. Girlfriends, aren’t these wonderful words you would like others to use when they speak of you?

To show kindness to others oftentimes requires us to overlook offenses and annoyances. This is exactly what our heavenly Father has done for us. Therefore let us show this same graciousness to those God has placed in our life realizing that we all have faults and need His kindness. We need to live a life of forgiveness just as our heavenly Father has forgiven us. In the book of Romans God tells us we will be cut off if we do not continue to show kindness.

The psalmist tells us that no one should extend kindness to us if we do not show it to others. This should be a great motivation for us be obedient to the words of our heavenly Father. I certainly do not desire to live a life where others are not kind to me. Do you?

As imitators of our heavenly Father, we are called to be ladies who are kindhearted. Dearest girlfriends, I pray we would work towards becoming ladies with a reputation of kindness.

A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth. ~ Proverbs 11:16 NIV
Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. ~ Romans 11:22 NIV
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. ~ Ephesians 4:32 NIV
Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:15 NIV
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. ~ 2 Peter 1:5-9 NIV
May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children. … For he never thought of doing a kindness, but hounded to death the poor and the needy and the brokenhearted. ~ Psalm 109:12-16 NIV
Kindness is rewarded—but if you are cruel, you hurt yourself. ~ Proverbs 11:17 CEV
